    Due to increased interest in translating KZTimer, I have decided to make a guide for you, translators.

    To start off, download the latest KZTimer from *click*

    All your going to need is to grab the language file your planning to translate, I recommend you to open both files, English & The language your going to translate to. These files can be found under /translations/. English one is located on the root folder of /translations/ others are specified in folders. For example if you wanted russian, you would open /translations/ru/kztimer.phrases.txt.

    If a language folder/file doesnt exist, you can create one. Name the folder after your language's ISO 639-1 code (?). Create a new file called kztimer.phrases.txt inside the folder you created, copy content from the English translations, open up your language file, Find & Replace *click* (""en"" -> ""ru"" for example for russian translations).

    If a language folder & file exists, you can start right off by opening it and the English translation and start translating!

    To start translating, open up English & your language file, edit the "ru", "en" line, whatever language your doing it in, for example..
    Never touch the #format part.

    On some translations you might have to move the variables ({1}, {2}, etc) a bit.

    But Sikari, what do those numbers mean!?

    These numbers tell sourcemod where a certain variable should be contained.
    For example, {1} and {2} in the following case stands for character. In this case the character contains a color code for the translation. {1} being green and {2} returning the text color to white. Only way you can figure out what a variable stands for is looking at the KZTimer code.. Or just simply figuring them out from the english translations & testing the translations.

    A bit about variables
    • c stands for Character (In most cases this a color code)
    • s stands for String (Usually player name, rank, etc)
    • #.f stands for Float (A number with decimals, usually timer or delays within KZTimer)
    • i stands for Integer (A number that has no decimals, usually checkpoint & teleport count, rank number, etc)
    • N always stands for Player name (client)

    English Translations contain:
    • "stopsound"
    • {
    • "#format" "{1:c},{2:c}"
    • "en" "[{1}KZ{2}] Map music stopped."
    • }
    While Swedish translations contain:

    • "stopsound"
    • {
    • "#format" "{1:c},{2:c}"
    • "sv" "[{1}KZ{2}] Map music stopped."
    • }
    After your done translating, either create a pull request on our Bitbucket *click* or Contact me and I can do it for you.

    Thanks and have fun translating!

    Are the old translations gone?
    I know I helped 1nut with the swedish one a few years ago but I don't know if it still is up to date?

    I'll include them in a KZTimer release sometime. So then players can choose their preferred language from !options (sm_options) from KZTimer
