Me and Slow found a new shortcut at the end of kz_imaginary.
I believe it is only possible with the "timer tech" (finishing a run with pressing the timer from as far away as possible so that you can reach further in future runs)
It skips the whole last room.

Nice find!, just to know, skips like this should be fixed or it's an actual 'valid' skip.

I'm not a fan of the "timer tech" I think its kind of tedious and annoying to keep setting up to be most optimal and if you don't your just gimping yourself. Agree with Zach though, at the very least its always consistent but bleh.

I dont really know either map, but the only difference I could see being, is how far you have to drag the timer. Pretty lame having to rerun multiple times just for it to work properly

I don't think it should be allowed if it's consistent or not, you skip the whole room which could help or destroy times

timer tech: whoever touches the start and end timer first controls the positioning.

I think it's just stupid to have something like this in the game.
This is 100% how it works. So if you are in a public server you can't get the WR, which to me is just the silliest thing.
This basically means that if you want the WR you have to be on a private server, or somehow be lucky enough to be the first person to touch both start and end timer in a public server just to set it up.

Yes it is consistent, but the way it becomes consistent is just silly.

I agree but I'd say completely retarded instead of silly.

I agree but I'd say utterly preposterous instead of completely retarded.

In all seriousness though, is there a way to fix the way timers work on the plugin's end? Because even when there's not a shortcut, this makes a big difference to lots of short maps. Basically anything where the top times are within ~0.3s of each other come down to pressing both timers optimally.

Global standards for button flags, origin placement and physical size would make this easy, probably.

But then you got literally every time coming into question, and a big effort going into bringing existing maps into line.

edit: looking more into this. simplekz uses same method as KZTimer atm (but you get your own 'virtual button').

Just to piggyback off this the biggest issue is those that have to play on pub servers have nearly no chance to get some records due to that fact its a server-wide issue of whoever touched it first. It would be way better if it was just applicable to each individual player.

Reason this "FEATURE" exists is so that people can not block timers.

I prefer this over timer blocking tbh, but I would much rather have it fixed if possible.
