I didn't think it was out of context at all, I felt like it applied to the situation with players who aren't aware that Global rules apply to non-global servers.
If you don't want your words to be used in this context, I'll go ahead and remove the quote from my post.
    Sorry.

No, he's talking about how appeals for bhop macro bans (implying that they apologize and understand the rules following their ban) should be accepted due to their ignorance of the rule against it.

(At least that's how I understood it.)

There's absolutely no good reason to test a cheat, especially ahk on a public server. It's been used like 500 times and you're not gonna get a different outcome. If a server admin want's to ask me how a specific cheat works i might be able to help them, but there's no reason you need to test cheats lol. I've never tested any strafe or bhop cheats, yet i've banned tons of people for using them. There are many other ways to gain knowledge on the subject rather than "testing cheats".

With the way kztimer currently works, im not for changing any rules. When the api comes out and there is more information on jumps, things that don't currently exist in kztimer right now for example even basic things like a fucking timestamp of the jump. Then maybe we can change the rules, for example now.... say a guy joins a non global server, uses AHK then a day later server gets whitelisted and such, then one day i join the server and see the cheated stats, with the information kztimer tells you know it's almost impossible to tell when the jump happened , e.g when server was global or not.

Personally, like i've said 100 times, there is no fucking reason to test cheats. It's like 99% of the time just an excuse people use for wanting to cheat. If you wanna know what happens when you use ahk just message me and i can tell you the outcome, it's not very exciting and it will save you from being banned.

Dw, I understand your reasoning and I don't disagree with your logic. As you already know, I spam you about that stuff all the time. Thanks for posting men.

I have played for over one year and only until this thread that I know that global rules apply also on non-global server.

You get a global ban and you play on a non-global ban without problem, you get a non-global ban and you cannot play on a global server and only that one non-server you are banned from? It doesn't feel very logical to me.

Also if I wanted to test out a script with my friend from the other side of the world on my local server to find out a max distance for a jumpstat for exemple, how do I stop myself from getting global banned?

The problem is it even possible at all to have a script that can do a 299.9999 jump? If yes, how many strafes would I need? How wide do I need to strafe? What about all the other stats? Max prespeed for countjump, max height for ladder? How many speed could i possibly get from a 64 unit high weirdjump? There are so many questions I want to know and I need to have a place to test it.

    Doing homework at school

Afaik you shouldn't really go for max height anyway, you should find like a nice middle ground between height and speed. (i think)

    Pre + 180.

Sorry for going off topic. Fuck cheaters, although it doesn't really make sense to ban people globally on a non-global server, that should be the server owners responsibility. However, in this case it makes sense since endo is still whitelisted, just outdated.

I believe in this case he cheated on a non-global server and got an instant ban on a global server which doesn't make much sense to me.

to clarify what nykan is saying. KZ-Endo is a globally whitelisted server, just the server owner has been inactive and because it doesnt run the current 1.87_2 version of kztimer is says it's not global due to outdated timer, if server owner were to update that it would say global records enabled! because like i said it is whitelisted

I asked you some days before that ban about ahk. I asked how does it work. You ignored, although you were playing at the moment. Also I completely forgot to say that I didn't want to get stats at all. I wanted to nopre at first to see how it works and stuff. So when I pressed mouse4 2 times and saw that it was working, it banned me instantly, and that's why I didn't jump at all. When I got banned from endo, the first thought in my mind was that it is a local ban, because the server was degloballed for a while now. I even pm'd you that I got banned from endo (not globally ofc). Regards.

This is my biggest concern too. What constitutes a "global server?".

If the question is: "Should global rules apply on non-global servers," then we must define global server and non-global server.

If a server is whitelisted, is it global? How about whitelisted but on a non-global map? Or whitelisted but one version old?

If we were to say that a server is only global if !globalcheck says its global, then we could have people cheating with blatant cheats during one map, the RTVing to a global map and "not cheating". Following this rule, if they were banned during the non-global map, they shouldn't be globally banned, but if they were banned during the global map they should be banned? The global team does not practically have the ability to monitor what specific conditions existed when a player was banned.

I think that at VERY LEAST, any whitelisted server should be count as a "global server." The owners of these servers applied for a whitelist, their servers were examined, they agreed to follow the global rules and then they were approved.

Then, if we say that the global rules only apply to "global servers", and "global servers" are any server that have been whitelisted, can we have a rule that says that no server with cheated stats can be whitelisted? Otherwise how would a global team member know if a certain LJ stat happened before or after it was whitelisted?

    Thanks,
    Chooklays

Very reasonable. A server owner applying for a whitelist needs to show that they care about their server, and cleaning up cheated stats is an easy fix.

Not sure if something like this is already in place, but perhaps a server which has previously been whitelisted should have its privileges expire after a certain amount of time (an extended period) in non-global status. I don't see much of a reason to keep counting a non-global server as globally approved if it isn't updated, maintained, nor managed for months at a time.
